2000 LTRS FURNACE OIL SEIZED

Vasco (Goa): A team of Crime Branch (CB) raided a pickup truck to find that 2000 ltrs of ‘furnace oil’ was dangerously stored in it. The vehicle was parked in an open public space in the slum area at Kariwado in Vasco. Javeedbeig Mulla (28 years), a resident of Khariwado was arrested with the consignment, which he claimed was supposed to be taken to an under construction site for ongoing work.  

 
“TATA DI pickup GA-02-V-7615 found near KTC shuttle  service bus was loaded with 10 barrels of the petroleum product, supposedly furnace oil. Each barrel contained 200 ltrs oil. It was parked in a manner endangering human life and property and there is every possibility of disposing the product from the place,” a press release by CB said. 
Mulla confessed that the barrels were meant for preparing ‘material for construction purpose.’ However his claims are being verified.
 
“He claims that the petrolem product is furnace oil. We will send samples for examination at CFSL,” said investigating officer Laxi Amonkar.
