Margao (Goa): 3 hunters were nabbed by the Margao Range Forest Office on Wednesday midnight. They were arrested and 11 bull frogs were rescued by the team.
Siddesh Gawade, the Range Forest Officer of Margao and his team of 4 arrested 3 frog hunters namely Menino Pereira aged 29, Dylan Noronha age 17, Denzil Soares aged 25. They were arrested from the fields at Arlem-Raia while the flying squad of Forest officials were heralding the area near Arlem. They noticed flashing lights in the fields after which laid a trap and nabbed the hunters. The hunters were produced before JMFC and were later released furnishing of personal bond.
The RFO has booked the hunters under section 9 of Wildlife protection act.
