Four Russians were arrested today in Mandrem for growing marijuana and dealing in other psychotropic drugs, police said.
Ilia Stennikov (30) was arrested by the police on Friday night for illegally growing marijuana worth Rs 65,000 in a rented apartment at Mandrem village, SP Chandan Choudhury told reporters.
Three other accused Igor Markov, Radik Vafin and Evgeny Zakharin – were arrested later.
“An FIR against Stennikov under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered. His interrogation revealed three other Russians living in a house in Arambol, who were selling drugs and one of whom was involved in ATM thefts in the North Goa,” Choudhury added.
Choudhury said that drugs worth Rs 6 lakh were recovered from the house in Arambol.
