Panaji (Goa) Not a single nomination was filed from talukas of Dharbandora, Sanguem, Mormugao and Canacona on the first day of the nominations for the panchayat elections to be held on June 11.

The four talukas has total 239 wards.

The State election commission received total 54 nominations on the first day.

Total 31 nominations were received in North Goa that is 13 in Pernem, 11 in Bardez, three each in Bicholim and Tiswadi and one in Sattari taluka.

On the other hand, South Goa received 23 nominations- 13 in Ponda, nine in Salcete and one in Quepem.

The last date for filing the nominations is May 25. No nominations would be accepted on May 21– which is Sunday. The scrutiny of the nominations would be held on May 26 and 27.
