Panaji (Goa): Total 57 candidates have filed their nominations from 16 wards in eleven panchayat for the July 1 by-polls.
The State Election Commission received 66 nominations from 57 candidates from 16 wards, whose elections were postponed following directions from the High Court.
The probable candidates had approached Court challenging the delimitation and reservation process of the Government.
The scrutiny of the nominations would be held on Wednesday, while Thursday is the day for withdrawal.
The counting of eleven panchayats will take place on July 2.
The eleven panchayat includes Bastora (Ward I), Anjuna-Caisua (Ward I), Penha-de-franca (Ward VIII & IX), Curca- Bambolim (Ward I), Merces (Ward VI), Advalpal (Ward V), Betki-Khandola (Ward V & VI), Nuvem (Ward X), Betalbatim (Ward III, V, VII), Chandor (Ward V) and Sancoale (Ward V & VI).
The elections for 175 panchayats have already taken place with people electing their new village panchayat bodies.
