CALANGUTE
A 9-year-old boy drowned in the swimming pool of a hotel in Calangute near, police said today.
The incident happened at 8 pm yesterday when the boy, a resident of Delhi who had come for a vacation to Goa along with his family, went to the swimming pool without the knowledge of his parents, Inspector Jivba Dalvi said.
An offence was registered by Calangute police against the management of the resort for negligence as they had not employed a lifeguard at the pool, Dalvi informed.
