Panaji (Goa) Shiv Sena unit of Goa has opposed the nationalization of rivers calling it “a conspiracy of BJP to sell Goa to businessmen like Adani.”
This is what Sena spokesman Jitesh Kamat said in a press conference today:
Inspite of smaller state Goa has been always popular among business communities from India as wel as internationally. Right from moghal till Portuguese Goa was more attractive for its natural waterways for transportation of goods.
Today big timers are interested to use Goan waterways for coal handling. Shiv Sena would not allow to happen repetition of history of invasion by outsiders and appeal all organization and political parties to come together and oppose unitedly. Kamat also said that Sena will try to bring them all on one platform.
River nationalisation has been opposes from all levels in Goa and pressure from business tycoons from top has sandwiched Goa CM and made him give irresponsible statements out of frustration. CM should understand that coal isn’t important than ones life before giving Statement like People opposing coal should not use electricity.
Leaders like Gadkari from Delhi to leaders from Goan ‘Galli’ streets are exhibiting their arrogance. People of Goa are Sushegad but self respected and BJP will face the consequences in 2019, warns Mr. Kamat.
Impact of transportation through rivers especially coal on human, Bio Diversity, animals, mammals especially fish is unknown. River interlinking project was initially designed by Irrigation Engineer Arthur Cotton during British regime to Facilitate import export from Southern Asia . BJP wants to fulfill Europeans wish, says Kamat. Parrikars statement of minimising coal Pollution is as similar as his promises of minimising corruption, unemployment, crimes, inflation etc etc, taunts Mr. Kamat. Further he opined that the statement of Parrikar about expressing fear over stopping of electricity generation plant at Karnataka is instigating and condemnable and has also blamed Parrikar that such remarks of his must have provoked kannadingas to threaten Goa government to bring Morcha on assembly
next month.
