Panaji (Goa): State government today decided to accommodate Para teachers on regular posts from next academic year 2018-19, onwards.

Several para teachers today blocked the entry point of Secretariat- Porvorim demanding regularization into service. The teachers have been working on contract basis for past 10-12 years.

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar held a meeting with Director of Education on the matter and it has been decided to accommodate Para Teachers from next Academic year on regular posts, subject to certain conditions to be fulfilled/relaxed within the framework of the Right To Education (RTE) Act.

 The decision will be applicable to Para Teachers who have joined the duties on or before November 25, 2017 as per the directions issued by the Education Department.
