Vasco (Goa): All Goa Petrol Pump Dealers’ Association has said that they will be participating in all India level protest on May 10 during which they will not purchase the petrol or diesel. But that won’t lead to the scarcity of commodity.
“We appeal to all our customers not to panic and do over purchasing as sufficient stocks will be available at all pumps in Goa,” All Goa Petrol Pump Dealers’ Association President Paresh Joshi said.
The petrol pump dealers in Goa have decided to support the strike called by CIPDA on May 10 as ‘no purchase day’ but has said that it would not stop selling the commodity on that day.
“We are joining the strike in the sense that we will not be purchasing the petrol and diesel on May 10. But the petrol pumps will continue selling the commodity,” he said.
He said that there will be no shortage of petrol or diesel in the State on that day, and the consumers will not be affected.
Joshi said, the association in their recent meeting has decided to support the call given by CIPDA to show their unity to the all India body.
“The oil marketing companies had given some written assurances while requesting us to withdraw our all India ‘bandh’ on Nov 4, 2016 stating that they would consider our demands by Jan 2017,” he said adding, “they have not been considered till date despite several requests.”
“While this will act to show unity amongst dealers, care is being taken to ensure that no customer of any petrol pump would have any inconvenience.
All pumps would have sufficient stocks to meet regular requirement of customers,” he added.
