MARGAO: Churchill Alemao has appealed to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and Goa Football Association to sort out their differences for the betterment of the game.

The owner of Churchill Brothers SC believes this was the primary reason why the India Under-17 World Cup squad was left without any Goan player.

“I am not blaming anyone. I just want differences to end. Goan players are among the best in the country and it pained everyone to see that we didn’t have any player of our own,” Alemao told reporters.

Alemao said he recently met sports minister Manohar ‘Babu’ Azgaonkar and there were high chances that Goa will be considered as a venue if India wins the bid for Fifa U-19 World Cup in 2019.
