Margao (Goa) A gang of unknown persons in connivance with the officers in Margao Municipal Council are subtly involved in a major scam changing the ownership of the shops worth crores of rupees.

The gang targets the gullible shop owners are usually unaware about the change in ownership. By they time the shop owner comes to know, their establishment has already been transferred in the name of someone.

Several such instances have come to the light of the shop owners from Pajifond area of margao where their ancestral properties have changed hands. In one of the case, it has changed hands twice and both the people are unknown to the owner.

The property was passed on to the person who is a Hindu lady from her grandmother while when she went to check the records, some time back it has already been transferred in the name of a Catholic person. The file has no documents.

On the other hand, it has been further passed on from a Catholic person to another Hindu person that too by just rubbing the name on the file and without any proper document.

The original owner who has approached the municipality is now made to run from post to pillar with no explanation being provided as to how the property was transferred.

Similar instances have also come to light from other shop owners who are groping in darkness over what would be fate of their properties.
