GOA: AIRES CASE: WOMEN ACTIVISTS BURN EFFIGY OF AIRES, DEMANDS HIS ARREST

Panaji (Goa): Several women led by Savera NGO chief Tara Kerkar today took out protest march in Panaji and burnt effigy of social activist Aires Rodrigues, who is booked in connection with the sexual harassment case.

Around 10.30 a.m, the women activists gathered at Azad Maidan in the city and then walked up to Women’s police station. On the way they burnt effigy of Aires.

The morcha was to demand an arrest of the social activist, against whom the case is booked at Anjuna police station for sexually harassing a lady. The lady had filed complaint against the social activist accusing him of posting her picture on the social media.
