Panaji (Goa): A day after DIG Vimal Gupta was relieved from Goa, State Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said that the IPS officer was involved in “not so good activities”.
Union Ministry for Home Affairs relieved Gupta, who is involved in bribery allegation to close departmental inquiry against lady police sub inspector (PSI) and police inspector (PI), both who are placed under suspension for their involvement.
Speaking to reporters, Parrikar said that the DIG is been relieved from Goa following the report of his all activities in this issue (bribery) by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
“Because of his “not so good activities”, DIG came under cloud so I said you go back,” Parrikar, who is also Minister for home, said adding ‘this does not mean that he is been given clean chit…we will also probe him’.
Chief Minister said that at this stage, he will not say that DIG is guilty because it is not yet proved but the question mark that came to me, definitely indicated his role.
Parrikar said that it is very difficult to establish the crime in such cases.
