Panaji (Goa): Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has scheduled meeting with opposition MLAs on December 16 to listen and resolve their grievances on the issue of development works in their respective constituencies.
The meeting is scheduled after Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar today called on Chief Minister questioning the kind of treatment meted out to the MLAs in opposition.
Chief Minister last month assured to sanction Rs 25 crores each to the ruling party MLAs to take up development work in their constituencies.
“I held a meeting with Chief Minister today and discussed how the constituencies ruled by the opposition are completely ignored as far as development is concerned. I also raised unhappiness towards the fact that Rs 25 crores are sanctioned to ruling constituencies, while ignoring those ruled by opposition MLAs,” Kavlekar said after the meeting.
Congress leader informed that in last seven months since the new government took over, not a single work is been undertaken in the constituencies belonging to opposition MLAs.
Ruling legislators have been asked to submit their respective proposals with an upper of limit of Rs 15 crore immediately by this month and the remaining Rs 10 crore by March, 2018. The proposals will be placed before the public works department accordingly.
