Panaji (Goa) IIT Mumbai will undertake the study to ascertain the impact of handling and transportation of coal at Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) on public health, environment and ecology from December 2018.

IIT Mumbai will conduct detail Source Apportionment Study (SAS) at MPT and surrounding areas, while proposing measures to mitigate the pollution level.

During the study period, which is 18 months, MPT has to ensure that no unauthorized activities take place at the monitoring site.
