Panaji (Goa) The Goa Investment Promotion Board (IPB) has granted fresh permissions and expansions to nearly 15 red category industries of the total 156 projects it has approved in-principle since its inception in November 2014.
Interestingly, only three green industries figures in the entire list, which is placed before the House during the ongoing Winter Session.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikart has said that total 225 projects have applied for permission before IPB, of which 156 projects with total investment of Rs 12,374.36 crores is granted in-principle approval. There are 69 projects pending for scrutiny.
Of the total 156 projects, 15 projects are categories as red industries while three are in green and the balance are in orange category.
The 15 projects include the controversial Vani Agro alcohol and brewery plant at Sanguem. The other 14 are expansions to the existing units.
Further, government has also withdrawn in-principle approvals granted to 17 projects for being located in CRZ areas. As such the total number of final projects are 133.
