GOA: AMIT SHAH STEPS IN TO SOLVE MHADEI WATER ISSUE BETWEEN GOA & KA

Panaji (Goa): With Mahdei water diversion issue between Goa and Karnataka being the biggest worry for the BJP, which is eyeing victory in the upcoming 2018 Karnataka Assembly election, saffron party national President Amit Shah has stepped in to resolve the crisis.

Amit Shah told held meeting in New Delhi between Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, Karnataka BJP President BS Yeddyurappa, Bengaluru Member of Parliament Anant Kumar and Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi. Union Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD) Prakash Javadekar was also part of the meeting.

CMO office in Goa said that Karnataka has requested Parrikar to give water for drinking purpose. However, Parrikar has not given an assurance on the same.

“CM listened to their demand but no assurance given,” CMO said.

Karnataka, which has proposed construction of 12 dams across the river, has demanded 56 tmc of water for diversion.
