GOA: PARRIKAR RUBBISHES NEWS ABOUT HIS MEETING WITH KARNATAKA CM

Panaji (Goa): Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar’s office has refuted the news that he would be meeting his Karnataka counterpart on January 5 over Mahadeyi water dispute.
News in section of media had claimed that Parrikar would be meeting Karnataka cm Siddharamaih on Jan 5.
Goa CMO today issued the statement refuting the news .
“The news is absolutely false. There is no such meeting scheduled,” the Cmo has said adding that the news is baseless.
“The News being spread to create confusion,” the cmo has said.
Parrikar had recently softened his stand on Mahadeyi water dispute stating that the state is ready for bilateral talk on this issue with Karnataka.
He had said that the talks would revolve around drinking water for the neighbouring state.
The chief minister’s statement had come a day after BJP president Amit shah intervened in the matter.
His statement was condemned by several political parties including congress and Shiv Sena besides social activists.
