GOA: TELANGANA TOURISTS BOOKED FOR MURDER 10 DAYS AFTER INJURED VICTIM SUCCUMBS TO ASSAULT

Ten day after a group of drunk Telangana tourists assaulted four locals, one victim succumbed to injuries on Thursday.The Calangute police, initially indicted on charges of attempted murder, have now booked the 15 men for murder. 
 
Jayesh Bhandari, a resident of Sanguem was in critical condition undergoing treatment in GMC, Bambolim has succumbed to injuries, PI Jivba Dalvi said stating that Section 302 (murder) of IPC has been added to FIR and police will again seek police custody of the accused persons. 
 
The Calangute police on January 2 arrested 15 tourists from Telangana in the brutal attack on a group of locals, two of whom including Jayesh had sustained grievous injuries. 
 
In the assault that took place outside Jude Guest House, Tivaivado, Calangute during late hours of January 1, the seriously injured persons were rushed by 108 Ambulance to Goa Medical College and Hospital. Based on a complaint filed by room boy of the hotel, Remy Rebello, a resident of Quepem; the 15 persons were immediately taken into custody for attempted murder.
 
The original FIR was registered under sections 143, 147, 148, 149 (forming unlawful assembly), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 307 (attempt to murder) IPC has been registered. Police had also attached one mini bus  bearing number  AP-29-V-7779 in which the accused persons had traveled to Goa. 
 
Among the injured, Remy Rebello and Abhilash patil ( hotel manager ) had received simple injuries while Raju from Calangute and Jayesh received serious  injuries. 
 
The accused are presently lodge din judicial lock up at Colvale Central Jail.
