GOA: TANZANIAN WOMAN  ARRESTED FOR FORGED VISA

Calangute police have arrested Tanzanian National Mary Daudi Gwalti for overstaying in India and booked the owner of guest house for allowing to check-in on forged visa.  
 
PI Jivba Dalvi said the staff was directed to conduct checking of foreign nationals in Calangute area when they came across the violation. “Accordingly, while checking one Cayden’s Place Guest House at Gaurawado, Calangute one Tanzanian National lady was found. On verifying the documents it was found that she was in possession of a forged visa which she produced to the police as genuine. Further inquiry revealed that she was illegally staying in India. The facts were confirmed with FRRO Panaji and it was revealed that her visa is issued to some other person,” the officer said disclosing the violation by the 23-year-old foreigner. 
 
The woman has been arrested under sections 420, 468, 471 of IPC and sections 7(I)(iii) of Foreigners Order Act, read with Section 14 of Foreigners Act 1946 and is being produced for remand.
 
The Calangute police has further booked owner of Clayden Place Guest House for not filling the C-form of the foreign national. A separate offence is registered under  sections 7(I)(iii) of Foreigners Order 1948 and Section 14 of of Foreigners Act 1946 against the owner.
