Margao (Goa) Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai today laid veiled attack on pro-merger activists by claiming that systematic attempts were made to keep the Opinion Poll out of the history of Goa.

Sardesai was speaking during the State level function held at Ravindra Bhavan in Margao jointly organized with Official Language Department of Goa.

He said that there were systematic attempts made to keep the history of opinion poll out of the history of Goa. Sardesai said that the State government is committed to include that part of history in the syllabus of school curriculum.

Sardesai also lamented that while Goa was kept away from being merged in Maharashtra, currently, outsiders are getting merged in Goa, which is a cause of concern for the ethnic identity of the State.

He appealed all the people to come together and fight for the cause of Goa.

Referring to the inauguration of opinion poll circle by activists yesterday, Sardesai said that the inauguration which was done yesterday is a final and original one. He said we should respect all the opinions, though many a times they differ.
