The Direct Tax collections up to 16th January 2018 continue to register steady growth. Direct Tax collections in the Pune Region up to 16th of January, net of refunds, stands at Rs. 37310.50 crores which are 23.98% higher than the net collections for the corresponding period of last year.
This collection is 75.07% of the total Budget Estimates of Direct Taxes for the financial year 2017-18 set for Pune Region. This makes Pune Region the 1st region in the country to reach 75% of the total budget Estimates of Direct Taxes for the Financial year 2017-18. So far as the growth rate for Corporate Income Tax (CIT) in terms of gross revenue collections is concerned, the growth rate for CIT is 26.68% which is the highest growth rate among all the regions in the Country.
Amongst top 5 regions of the country, Pune region is the first region in the country to achieve 100% target as regard cash collection out of arrear demand by 31 march 2017.
