GOA: MINISTER OF MINES FROM 21 STATES TO MEET IN PANAJI TOMORROW

Ministers’ in-charge of mining departments of 21 major mineral rich States along with secretaries will be in Goa to attend the fifth national Mines Ministers meeting scheduled on Friday.

Union minister of Mines Narendra Singh Tomar will chair the meeting which will hold detail discussion on the issues related to mining sector at the highest level of governance.

“The meeting would provide an appropriate platform to monitor the progress of auctions in the country. The use of online portal and mobile app- Transparency, Auction Monitoring and Resource Augmentation (TAMRA) launched by the Ministry of Mines, for the purpose of facilitating and monitoring the clearances status of the auctioned mines in order to further the agenda of ‘ease of doing business’ and ensuring early operationalization of the auctioned mines will also be discussed in the meeting,” the press release stated.

The meeting will discuss the ways to expedite the auction process, strengthening of surveillance system, star rating to mines, progress of pradhan mantra khanij kshetra kalian yojan, etc.

 Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who is also Minister for Mines is likely to attend the meeting.
