Panaji (Goa): Five Nobel Prize laureates, who were honoured for their discoveries in the field of Physiology or Medicine, Physics and Chemistry will be part of three-day long ‘Nobel Prize Series- India 2018’ in Goa from February 1.
Nobel Prize winners in the field of Physiology or Medicine Dr J Michael Bishop (1989), Christiane Nusslein-Volhard (1995) and Richard Roberts (1993), Noble Prize awardee in Physics Serge Haroch (2012) and Noble winner in Chemistry Tomas Lindahl (2015), the Nobel laureates, who would be interacting with students, teachers, industrialists and the researchers during the event.
Goa is hosting the second edition of ‘Nobel Prize Series- India 2018’ (Science Impact Life) From February 1-3, along with a month long exhibition upto February 28 brought from Nobel Museum, Sweden.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will inaugurate the event at Kala Academy on February 1 evening.
Informing about the event, Parrikar said that the event is aimed to generate scientific temperament among the students by educational upgradation. “The purpose is to focus on the importance of science, in order to inspire the young students to pursue education and career in science for innovation and scientific growth,” he said.
