PANAJI (GOA)
In a world of sport with cutthroat completion, here is a tournament that’s refreshingly different. The world’s largest Badminton Masters What’s App group Badminton Enthu Cutlets organised their annual tournament at Campal Indoor Stadium, Panaji, Goa from 26tg Jan to 28th Jan 2018.
Over 165 masters (35+) from all over India descended in Goa from all over India to join 15 local players in an innovative league cum knock out format competition.
The tournament was inaugurated by none other than Hon. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and joining him was Mr. Vasant Prabhudesai, DSYA, Goa.
The event sponsored by Li-Ning witnesses some scintillating badminton with many national champions participating.
The semi finals and final will take place tomorrow.
“The whole idea of our tournament is to build comradarie and kinship in our badminton community” said Bibhash Chatterjee, tournament secretary.
The tournament format was conceptualised by well known author and sports enthusiast Manoj Vaz.
“We wanted people to play the sport they love, at the same time have a great time and take back wonderful memories.
We had 80 participants in our last tournament in Aurangabad, and now we have 180. Next time we will make it even bigger” he said.
“The entire organising committee has worked very hard to make it a seamless and fun tournament. And it can be seen in the smiles of the participants” added Bibhash
