Panaji (Goa): In a huge sigh of relief to movie lovers, I Inox and Osia multiplexes across Goa have begun screening the highly controversial ‘Padmaavat’ today amidst police security.
The first screening was held at 9am followed by 3D screening at 9:40am. The Inox officials have confirmed screening the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed film at all its multiplexes.
On the eve of the film’s pan-India release, the Multiplexes Associations of India decided not to screen the film in four states in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Goa. This is despite Goa not witnessing any violent protests unlike other states. However three days later Inox finally decided to lift the ban.
Goa Poole have deployed security around the Multiplexes to ensure there is no law and order problem.
TNV spoke to a couple of movie buffs who watched the early morning screening of the film. “Why is Karni Sena objecting to the movie? It’s a movie showing how Rajputs are brave and courageous. The actors have done a wonderful job,” Meena Raut Desai opined.
She qas joined by another Nitu Sinari claiming, “Deepika Padukone has done a phenomenally well and so also Ranveer Singh who did justice to Afghan ruler Alauddin Khilji… The protests are nothing but just a drag.”
Some others suggested protesting groups watching the movie to clear doubts they hold against the movie makers.
The single screens on the other hand screened the movie since the day of its release.
