Mapusa(GOA)

Devout Hindu Organisations under the banner of National Hindu Movement has opposed Carnival to be held at Pedne. Hindu Janjagruti Samiti (HJS)  has extended support to the Rashtrapremi Nagrik in Pedne who are opposing this proposed carnival at Pedne. The demonstrations were held on  January 28 at the main gate of Mapusa Municipal Market. This demonstration was a part of the National Hindu movement.

The movement was commenced by blowing of the conch shell. On behalf of the National Hindu Movement, Rajshree Gadekar of Ranaragini sect of HJS gave  an introduction regarding the objective of the movement. The following demands were also made during the demonstration. Since there is no common law for all citizens of the country irrespective of their religion, the minority population is increasing at a very fast pace. At present, the Hindu population in states like Jammu-Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Manipur and Union Territories like Lakshadweep and Nicobar has become a minority. International societies have claimed that if this is not stopped then before 2030 Hindus will be in minority. Therefore to pass the law of ‘Population control and balance’ applied to all religions in general, is essential. Kashmiri Hindus living in displaced state for the last 27 years, should be rehabilitated, they also should be given their own ‘Home land’. Demand was made to cancel the increase in the railway fare during the Hindu festivals and religious festivals, at various places in the country, on the occasion of Magh Mela. Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions shot the movie ‘Padmaavat’ (Named earlier as ‘The Legend of Rani Padmavati’) at Masai Pathar in Panhala, District Kolhapur. The shooting was carried out for 20 days. As per the Government rules for shooting, the production company was to pay Rs. 1,91,458 towards shooting charges. However, the production company paid only a meagre amount and caused loss to the Government revenue to the tune of Rs. 1,62,742. Similarly, the Police administration, Forest Department and the Collector, Kolhapur had laid the condition that the production company should obtain prior permission from the concerned individuals and institutes before commencing the shooting. However, the production company has not followed the directives and thus, deceived the Government once again, which is a criminal offence. Therefore, M/S Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions should be fined and criminal offences should be registered against the concerned defaulters. HJS and Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad has lodged the complaint to the government in Maharashtra. Demand was made to the Goa government to follow-up this case.  At the end of the demonstration, Govind Chodankar  placed the resolutions before the gathering.
