Panaji (Goa): In an unusual scene in the capital, over 1-km long queue of hundreds of candidates, to appear for interview at Collectorate Office, created chaos with candidates arguing over improper manner in which the procedure is being carried out.
The candidates, most of whom are females, have queued up for interview since early morning for 40 Lower Division Clerk and 24 Data Entry Operator posts for a period of 10 months on contract basis.
Chaos prevailed outside the office and at the entrance of the Collectorate building. Huge crowd has been camped along the stretch that also housed police head quarters, printing press and defense office.
Deputy Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Michael Lobo has taken strong objection to the manner in which interview is being carried out. “Why couldn’t Collectorate posts’ interviews be held at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium when huge crowd is anticipated? Why the candidates, especially girls are treated in bad condition? They are standing in hot sun, ” he said. Lobo thereafter met the Collector expressing his anguish over the situation.
