Panaji (Goa)  The Directorate of Education (DoE) today issued a circular imposing restriction on the use of mobile phone by the teachers as well as students so as to maintain a healthy atmosphere in the school.

“Despite of clear instructions, it is brought to our notice that not only the students are misusing the smartphones, but the teachers also resort to instructing students to use the phones for downloading various material taking advantage of lucrative offers from certain service providers,” Director Education GP Bhat said in a circular issued.

“It is therefore re-iterated that the use of cellphones be restricted to bare minimum so as to have a very healthy teaching-learning atmosphere in the school premises,” he stated.

Directions are issued to the Deputy Education Officers to give surprise visits to the schools under their jurisdiction and initiate action against the defaulters.
