DRINKING IN PUBLIC PLACES TO BE A PUNISHABLE OFFENCE SOON, CM

Panaji (Goa) Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today announced that drinking in public places will be a punishable offence soon.

Parrikar said that a fine upto Rs 5000  will be imposed on those violating the law.

“Drinking in public places will be a punishable offence soon. Fine upto Rs 5000 will be imposed on the violators,” he said.

Chief Minister said that the order in this regard would be issued post Budget session.

Parrikar also announced to increase fine on those who dump waste in open or public places.

He said that government has already imposed fine on 150 people in last two months.
