Sinquerim (Goa) Hundreds of Harley-Davidson riders from across India and even neighbouring Bhutan has travelled to Goa to participate in the sixth annual India Harley Owners’ Group rally which began on February 01.
The American superbike company which intends to increase its footfalls in the Indian markets consider such event as important mark to establish brand’s influence in the country.
“India represents important part of our international portfolio and on lines with the global strategy to be more accessible and more relevant, we will continue to invest in India,” Peter Mackenzie, Managing Director, Harley-Davidson (India and China) told reporters at the sidelines of the event.
The rally which will culminate on February 03 is a bigger celebration to mark 115 years of the brand, he said adding that more than two thousand HOG members rode into the Goa from across thirty chapters for the event.
Dragon Chapter of Bhutan were amongst the riders who has arrived here. “The enthusiastic participation is a testimony to the brand’s influence in the motorcycle community in India,” Mackenzie said.
Speaking about the Harley owners Group members, he said that the membership has been growing at 20 per cent year on year, which indicates the brand loyalty of the customers and enthusiasm amongst them to be a part of the community.
