Vasco (Goa): For the first time in Goa, a 4th year student of BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus, Mr. Kishore Gopalkrishnan, has won a Gold Medal for the National Graduate Physics Examination (NGPE) conducted by the Central IAPT (Indian Association of Physics Teachers) in Jan 2017. This exam was attempted by over 12,000 candidates from all over India.
Besides Kishore, 7 students of BITS Pilani Goa Campus, Ms. Esha Swaroop, Mr. Soumil Maulick, Ms Sneha Malasiddha Madle, Ms. Sumagala Patki, Mr. Aman Agarwal, Mr. Abhinav Tripathi and Ms. Vibha Balaji have been ranked among the top 1 % at all India level in the same Exam.
These students will be felicitated at the 18th Annual Convention of the IAPT Goa Regional Council, which will be held at Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna on 27th Jan 2018.
The NGPE Exam is held all over India and in several centers of Goa, usually during the 3rd Sunday in January every year. Students studying B.Sc (Physics) or M.Sc (Integrated) (in either their 1st, 2nd or 3rd years) may register for this exam by the 3rd week of November of the previous year. A minimal registration fee of Rs 100/- per student is charged.
The success of BITS Goa Campus students in NGPE, ought to spur all Goan students to compete in this Exam and earn more laurels for themselves and for the state of Goa.
