Panaji (Goa) In order to boost the farming activities, the State Government has organized Kirishi mela on February 12.

Government intends to achieve 6 percent growth in the agriculture sector in the coming years. At present, the growth is 4 percent.

 The Krishi mela is organized by the State Horticulture Corporation Ltd.

Minister for Agriculture Vijay Sardessai will be the chief guest.

Best farmers from each talukas will be awarded at the hands of Chief Guest.

Last year too, Government had organized a similar programme, in a bid to motivate farmers to bring in more areas under cultivation.
