National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) is all set to organize its 4th edition of Marine Robotics School from February 12 to 17 for young researchers across country.
The Marine Robotics Schools at NIO was first organized in 2012. Marine Robotics Research aims to design, develop and provide support to the operation of advanced underwater systems for scientific/academic, government/military and service markets.
“The five days Marine Robotics School will focus on providing a stimulating combination of theoretical and practical issues, complemented with real demonstrations with acoustic networks and vehicles,” the press statement issued by NIO said.
The key objectives of the school is to afford young researchers and systems developers a fast paced introduction to the core topics required to design, build, and operate single and multiple vehicles for commercial and scientific applications.
“The course will cover a large spectrum of disciplines that are at the core of advance marine robotic systems design, implementation, and testing,” NIO said.
The course is organized with the help of Prof. Antonio Pascoal, Adjunct scientist at NIO, who is a professor at IST, University of Lisbon, Portugal. People from many academic institutes, research organizations, Indian Navy and Naval research laboratories will participate in this event.
