“The chairmanship of Greater Panjim PDA is an example of the greatest political corruption,” stated Jitesh Kamat, spokesperson of Shiv Sena through a press note. Kamat further states that, “It is a bribe given to Atanasio alias Babush Monserrate by CM Manohar Parrikar in the form of reward as a part of a ‘secret deal’ done during Panjim by-poll on a condition of not contesting Panaji seat against CM. Now it is prooved that, during Panjim by-poll, it was not a rumour that Parrikar had promised PDA Chairmanship to Babush with mediation of TCP Minister Vijay Sardessai, opined Kamat.”

Kamat further reminds the series of episodes from Babush’s declaration to contest on Congress ticket till joining Goa Forward and creation of PDA itself witnesses the conspiracy of having struck a deal. Having neglected the ruling MLA’s in que and giving chairmanship to non MLA by creating a new PDA that was opposed by many sections of the society reveals ‘taking people for granted’ mentality of Parrikar.

Same Babush Monserrate was sacked by Parrikar from his TCP Ministry charging him of corrupt practices in the year 2006 leading to by Poll Elections in five constituencies with a burden on government exchequer, reminds Kamat. Giving PDA to same person ridicules then Parrikar’s allegations and Kamat further holds him responsible for the unnecessary loss of government  treasury in the past demanding public apology for creating such situation in past. Kamat also urges clarification from CM publicly whether then he blamed Babush just to malign his image for political gains. Kamat opined that Goans are very well versed with false promises of zero tolerance to corruption of Parrikar Government and no more he can fool people of Goa. Further he termed PDA as Post Deal Amount from Parrikar to Monserrate.
