GOA: TELANGANA NATIVE BOOKED FOR POSSESSION OF GANJA

Calangute police conducted a narcotic raid and seized narcotics drugs, worth Rs. 36,000 from the possession of a Telangana native today.

PI Jivba Dalvi informed that he received information about the accused person coming to deliver ganja. Accordingly a team was formed and raid was conducted. Police laid a trap at Calangute parking and waited for the suspected person. Further upon noticing the accused person, police immediately apprehended him. The personal search was conducted and ganja worth Rs. 36,000, was seized from the accused person. The accused person was identified as Tejavath age-20 yrs native of Bharadri, Telangana.

An offence under sections 20(b)(ii)(A) of NDPS Act has been registered.  The accused had come to deliver the drugs to a prospective customer at Calangute. The raiding team consisted of PI Jivba Dalvi, PSI Prajit Mandrekar, police constables Dinesh Morajkar, Govind Shirodkar and Vallabh Pednekar and other staff. Further investigation is in progress.
