CENTRE SANCTIONS RS 61CR TO CONTROL POLLUTION IN RIVER SAL

Panaji (Goa) Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today informed that Centre has sanctioned Rs 61.30 crore to control pollution in Sal River.

“Yesterday I received letter from Union Minister (environment) Harsh Vardhan informing about sanctioning of the fund,” Parrikar told reporters.

 “The project is basically to ensure River Sal is pollution free. Under the project, we have to ensure that there is no release of effluent in the river,” he said.

The project was sanctioned by the Environment Ministry under the National River Conservation Plan (NRCP)
