The 50th convention of Indian Water Work Association (IWWA) will be held in Goa at Kala Academy from February 19-21.
The Goa branch of IWWA is the organizing agency. The annual convention will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
The theme this year will be ‘Water…the Elixir of Life’.
“The theme will encompass the management of water and waste water in an effective, efficient and sustainable way. There will be total five technical sessions in which 81 papers will be presented over three days,” the president of the organizing committee U Parsekar told reporters.
Two memorial lectures-M V Modak and V Raman Endowment Lecture will also be held. Special technical sessions on Smart Water and Smart City are included in the context of Panjim being developed as smart city.
Over 1100 delegates from India, US, Germany, Japan, France, Singapore and Taiwan have registered themselves.
The three-day event includes technical tours to various water and sewage treatment plants.
There will be special exhibition pertaining to latest technologies in the field of water and waste water.
PWD Minister Ramakrishan Dhawalikar, WRD Minister Vinod Palyekar and Art and Culture Minister Govind Gawade will be also part of the event.
