Amidst panic among the people including BJP workers over Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s sudden departure to Mumbai hospital for medical emergency, Chief Minister’s Office has said he will remain ‘indisposed’ till Monday.
“CM will be indisposed till February 19, as he is admitted in a Mumbai hospital and is undergoing treatment for mild pancreatitis. He is expected to attend to all official matters Monday onwards,” Siddhart Kunkalienkar said in an official statement issued late last night.
Parrikar, accompanied by his elder son and security personnel air dashed to Mumbai on early Thursday morning after complaining of stomach ache. Earlier on Wednesday he underwent treatment for food poisoning at Goa Medical College and Hospital. Sources said he recovered but on Thursday morning he once again complained of the pain after which his family advised to take treatment at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital.
In another official statement released earlier last evening, the CMO stated, “
Chief Minister will be unavailable for next two days as he had to undergo routine checkup in Mumbai.”
The office has confirmed he is doing well and will return your Goa by Sunday.
BJP State President Vinay Tendulkar on Wednesday accompanied CM to GMCH where he took his first treatment. He said, “Since morning he complained of stomach ache. In the afternoon it was found he had food poisoning. We went to GMCH where he was given medication,” he told TNV.
The media groups in Goa were abuzz with the news about Parrikar’s absence as the month long Budget session of the assembly begins on Monday. CM will present the State Budget on February 22 after which it will be discussed in the House for three days.
