In two back to back raids, the Goa Police have arrested two persons of whom one is a suspected drug dealer. The first raid at Anjuna saw the arrest of alleged notorious drug dealer Menino Fernandes, a local from Anjuna beach belt with MDMA and Cocane worth a whopping Rs 7.5 lakh.
Whereas the second raid this afternoon saw a Bihar youth caught with 2.5 kg ganja and 1.100 kgs of charas at Arambol, another tourist popular beach belt in the North Goa. Akshat Kumar, aged 23 years with the illegal contraband, worth Rs 4.50 lakh.
Both the raids were carried out by Crime Branch and Anti Narcotics Cell respectively.
“Their interrogation is underway by the two separate agencies. While in the first case, the drugs are synthetic; the second case has traditional drugs. The source of drugs and links in Goa are being probed,” a senior officer who is monitoring both the investigations said.
