GOA: ASSEMBLY LIKELY TO BE CURTAILED FOR THREE DAYS, BUDGET TO BE PREPONED

Panaji (Goa) Goa legislative assembly will curtail its upcoming session only to three days with budget being preponed by a day, deputy speaker Michael lobo said.

He said that the business advisory committee will meet tomorrow after Governor’s address on the first day.

“We will curtail the session to three days considering ill health of the chief minister,” lobo said.

He stated that the budget which was scheduled to be presented on February 21 will be tabled on February 20 and on the third day, feb 21, vote on account would be passed.

Lobo said that the questions which were supposed to be discussed during the current session would be postponed for the next.

On asked whether Parrikar would be attending the session, Lobo said that the doctors have asked him not to attend the assembly.

Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar said that the opposition benched have no reservations if session is curtailed as chief minister is genuinely ill.

Parrikar is currently taking treatment at Lilavati hospital in Mumbai for pancreatitis.

The session was scheduled to culminate in Mid-March, 2018.
