Government is considering creation of common cadre for the panchayat staff, Minister for Panchayat Mauvin Godinho told the State legislative assembly today.
“We are in process of creating common cadre for the panchayat staff and I want everyone to support it,” Godinho said during a reply to a calling attention motion.
Godinho further informed that a policy is being formulated to ensure frequent transfers of panchayat secretaries to reduce corruption in local bodies.
NCP MLA Churchill Alemao, who pointed out the problems faced by the panchayat secretaries in issuing separate house number to the members of joint family. “There are many applications pending in various panchayats where the family has been separated from joint households and not being issued separate house number,” he said.
Minister said that in order to avoid any hardship or inconvenience for issuance of separate house numbers, government will consider about framing guidelines or rules.
