GOA WRD MINISTER IN DELHI TO SEEK EXTENTION FOR MAHADAYI WATER TRIBUNAL

Goa’s Water resources department minister Vinod Palyekar has dashed to New Delhi to attend the hearing of Mahadayi tribunal over Goa-Karnataka water dispute.

The minister during his visit to Delhi is also expected to meet union minister for WRD Uma Bharati seeking her intervention for the extension of Mahadayi Tribunal which is being replaced with the Inter state water dispute tribunal.

“I am personally present during the hearing of Mahadayi tribunal in New Delhi. I would be likely to meet union minister for water resources department Uma Bharati to demand for extension of Mahadayi  Tribunal,” Palyekar told TNV.

Talking about the ongoing hearing on the water dispute, Palyekar said Additional Solicitor General Sushant Nadkarni along with Advocate General Datta Lawade and the entire team of Goa is doing a fantastic work in fighting the Mahadayi battle.

“Our government is fully committed to win this battle to save our mother Mahadayi,” he added.
