GOA: OH FOG! FLIGHTS AT DABOLIM AIRPORT DIVERTED

Panaji (Goa) The low visibility due to fog severely affected the flight operations at Goa airport this morning with two international and three domestic flights had to be diverted to various destinations, a senior official said.

Airport Authority of India (AAI) stated that the visibility was extremely low from 6 p.m. onwards, when the morning flights were supposed to arrive.

As per the information provided by Goa airport, two international flights a chartered flight from Russia was diverted to Bangalore while another from Manchester was asked to land at Mumbai airport.

Indigo flight from Chennai to Goa was diverted to Bangalore, Go Air flight from Mumbai was asked to return back to Mumbai and Spicejet flight from Chennai to Goa was diverted to Bangalore.

The officials stated that the flights began landing from 8.30 a.m onwards when visibility was proper.
