Panaji (Goa): The restaurant owners in Goa will now have to install RO filter to provide drinking water to the customers.
“It is made compulsory for the restaurants to have RO filter. Only filtered water should be provided to the customers,” state Health Minister Vishwajit Rane told reporters today.
He said that the team of Food and Drugs Administration officials will be inspecting the restaurants, and those who fail to install the filter will have to face action.
“We are giving time limit of 30 days for the restaurant owners to install the filter, failing which they will face action,” Rane said.
The minister has also asked FDA teams to inspect roadside eateries and close down those who are unhygienic and posing threat to the health of the customers.
