GOA: FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES SAVED 101 LIVES IN NINE MONTHS

The Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services had a rather busy 2017, responding to various fire and emergency incidents across the state. In nine months from April to December 2017, the department saved 101 human lives.

As per the Economic Survey  2017-18, the Fire services department attended 4756 fire and emergency calls from April to December 2017, which include 1084 fire and 3672 emergency calls.

During which, 101 human lives and 453 animal lives were saved.

Also property worth Rs 21.95 crore was saved.

During the nine months, 451 fire prevention inspection of government buildings, 169 inspections of educational institutions have been undertaken in the State. The institutions are directed to adopt fire safety measures.
