Panaji (Goa) With Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar continue to remain admitted in GMC, the Congress party has demanded that senior most Minister in the government be handed over charge of State administration.
Addressing press conference, Congress President Shantaram Naik said that the State is in crisis in the absence of Chief Minister.
“Our wishes are with the Chief Minister and pray for his speedy recovery. But at the same time, we cannot ignore the fact that the coalition Government is not in position to run the State in absence of Parrikar. State is in complete crisis,” Naik said.
“As such for smooth functioning of the administration, Parrikar should hand over the charge to senior most Minister in the cabinet till the time he fully recovers,” he demanded.
The Congress party has also urged the coalition government and BJP party to come out clear and announce the exact nature of the ailment of Chief Minister.
Parrikar was in Lilavati hospital from February 15, after he complaint of stomach pain. It was later announced that he is being treated for mild pancreatitis. He was then discharge on February 22 morning.
However, on February 25 evening, Chief Minister was admitted in GMC for dehydration and continues to be treated their even today.
