Panaji (Goa): Thousands of Class XII students of Science, Commerce and Arts appeared for the Goa Board exams that commenced across 16 examination centres today. A total of 18,502 students have been enrolled with the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education’s (GBSHSE) this year, nearly 2,000 students more than last academic year.
Strict security arrangements are in place at the examination centers till the exams conclude on March 24. Except for the exam dates, the Goa Board is following the same time table of the last year.
On the first day, students answered English language I and Marathi language I followed by accountancy, physics and history papers two days later on March 7.
Further on March 9, students will be answering chemistry and business studies exams while economics on March 12. Biology and geology papers will be held on March 13 and Hindi language II and Portuguese language II papers on March 14.
Meanwhile on March 15, students will be answering mathematics, statistics examinations and political science whereas March 16 will have Psychology and cookery papers, March 17Geography; March 19 will see six papers in English language II, Urdu language II, French language II, Konkani language II, Sanskrit language II and painting.
Further the time table reads that Secretarial practice will be held on March 20 while Co-operation, banking, logic and computer science will be held on March 21.
Meanwhile, sociology paper will be answered by students on March 22 followed by Marathi language ll on March 23; and automobile, IT/ITES, Health Care and Retail will mark the end of the examinations on March 24.
The Goa Board examination for vocational stream will begin on March 6. The institution is also gearing up for SSC examination which will begin from April 2 while the month of May will see results of Class XII and Class X.
