PANAJI (GOA) First time councilors Vithal Chopdekar and Asmita Kerkar are finalized for the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of the City Corporation by the ruling panel, backed by Atanasio Monserrate.
The elections for the posts are scheduled on March 14.
In a special meeting held tonight, Monserrate announced name of Chopdekar and Kerkar. The meeting was attended by all 15 councilors from the ruling panel.
Current Surendra Furtado is the sitting city mayor while Lata Parekh is the deputy mayor. Both have been holding the post since 2015.
