Two dead bodies have been retrieved while four have been rescued and admitted to hospital, the South Goa SP said.
Nearly 30 people are feared to have drown and missing after a bridge collapsed at Sanvordem.

As per the information released by government, CM has called on Indian Navy to assist and 35 people are saved.
One of the leading mining firm- Sesa Goa has voluntered itself in the rescue operation following a bridge collapsed at Sanvordem where several feared missing.
” we have already sent one launch for rescue operation. We are providing al help to the governemnt rescue team at site,” the company official said.
“Our launch is leaving from vasco with some extra barge crew onboard to help in night navigation and rescue operation,” official added.
As per government information nearly 14 people are rescued so far.

Public works department Minister Sudin dhavalikar confirmed that the old portuguese era bridge, that collapsed this evening, was closed for commuters since last four years.
Minister who rushed at the site following the accident said that the Bridge was closed with barricades for last 4 yrs, people removed barricades & crowded on bridge to see the rescue operation, after a person jumped.
He said that the new vehicular bridge was built five to six years ago and people were using that.
